Such sentences state a fact, opinion or idea.
Tom is my son.
Tom is not at home.
Alice doesn’t go to school.
Papa scolds me.
- Interrogative Sentences Sentences:
Where a question is asked.
Is Tom not at home?
Do you play?
- Imperative Sentences Sentences:
Which are used to command or request are known as imperative sentences.
Sit there. [Command] Let me go. [Request]
- Exclamatory Sentences Sentences:
Which are used to express sudden emotions.

These are Assertive/ Declarative sentences but No Negation
Tom is a bad boy
These are also Assertive/ Declarative sentences but Negation is there.
Tom is not a good boy.
Question Mark Sentences without Negation
Is Tom a bad boy?

Question Mark Sentences with a mandatory Negation
Is Tom not a bad boy?
